I worked at Merchant Services full-time (Less than a year)
HR staff and first week of training was good, not great.
They will make it very difficult to get your $700 travel expense reimbursement check. I still have not received my check 4 weeks after completing the full training. They will charge new reps for every item and tack on a hefty margin. For example, starter business cards $100, 25% of your commission if they provide a sales lead. No need for 2 weeks of training. Company will micro manage you daily like an employee, but you are an independent contractor. 4 year lease on processing equipment is a tough sell; they expect 35 cold call per day!
Advice to Management
Be upfront and disclose the nature of the position. Remember, always pay a sales rep their money! You will have no trust or credibility if you don't pay as scheduled.
