I worked at Meridian International Center part-time (Less than a year)
-Great people. The staff at Meridian are some of the kindest and most interesting I've ever met, they really do care about you and want to help you grow. -Interesting job, you interact with people from all over the world in a huge array of topics. It really keeps you in the know and you're always learning something new. -Lots of projects, you don't get stuck working on just one project or one field forever, you always get to try something new. -Really horizontal management structure that works surprisingly well.
-As in intern in this department it wasn't the most challenging job. The other branches seemed to give their interns a little more responsibility. -Advancement isn't great. Meridian is great for a few years when you're young but unless you are really passionate about it people get restless and move out. The upper management usually come form the outside, so their roles are great but there's an age gap between associates and officers because of the lack of middle roles.
Advice to Management
-Intern training is great but it got off schedule a lot. Maybe have more defined roles for the interns. It's good if you're outgoing and looking for work but an extra push could help the experience.
