I have been working at Methodist Healthcare full-time (more than 10 years)Pros
Full of very talented and passionate staff at all levels who desire to do the right thing for their patients.Cons
Poor communication all at levels.
Divided at the top on key initiatives which limits progress
Burn out high performers due to lack of accountability and follow-thru on key initiatives.
Finance has the final say... even on clinical decisions!
Even when the company is profitable, because of poor budget planning with inflated growth margins the senior leadership keeps having to make cuts to "get back to budget". The focus seems to always be on FTE's / SWB.... do more with less mentality doesn't work when it comes to caring for patientsAdvice to ManagementAdvice
Get away from "putting out the fires" by allowing for appropriate pre-planning & implementation time lines with all stakeholders involved and learn to recognize the importance of providing "work life balance" to employees.
Executive leaders should take the hit on the chin when their Directors act based on what they are told to do rather than allowing them to be the scape goats for poor decision making as it relates to dissatisfied employee's who are sick of hearing about "productivity". Productivity is not based on any patient acuity or real life situational data but rather from a benchmark from "elsewhere general" that functions on an entirely different scale.Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo opinion of CEO
