    Pros

Flexible work schedule. People in the lab only work 6-7 hours a day total, take 2 hour lunches and at least 1 hour worth of breaks. Resume Builder.

    Cons

R&D team is completely dysfunctional. Lab staff has limited knowledge about basic scientific principles, chemistry, and equipment they’ve been working with. Everyone thinks they are a VP strategizing about the direction the company should go instead of focusing on their own projects and actually contributing something. People go out of their way to take credit for other’s ideas. Lab safety is little concern, employees wear eyeglasses instead of goggles, don’t work in fume hoods when they should, wear lab coats into the restroom, and don’t wash their hands before leaving the lab. Upper management has no idea how incompetent and lazy the R&D team really is.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to add headcount to the R&D team and get rid of the staff that currently work there. Current staff is lazy, entitled, lacks scientific knowledge and a new person will have a faster learning curve than waiting for the current staff to produce something.
