I worked at MetroHealth System full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    1. Health care insurance benefits are exceptional in terms of cost.
    2. The hospital's main campus is fairly accessible off a major highway.

    Cons

    1. The Department of Human Resources at MetroHealth is a perfect example of why employees complain about HR. After informing HR of ongoing and unresolved issues involving verbally combative employees and illegal/unethical practices occurring within the department I worked in, HR did absolutely nothing to assist, even after I received retaliatory treatment.

    2. The hospital speaks of larger plans of grandeur and making a world-class facility for patients, but completely disregards management of employees within the hospital system. There is no process for review of supervisors/management by employees and there is a complete lack of communication.

    3. Fees for employee parking at the main hospital campus is automatically taken out of paychecks, but there is NO guarantee that employees will actually have parking on campus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please listen to employees when multiple complaints and grievances have been made against individuals working within the hospital. Reversing the issue and placing blame on the employees for the poor and inappropriate behavior of a supervisor further adds to MetroHealth's ongoing problem of recruiting and keeping talent.
