Former Employee - Field Applications Engineer in San Jose, CA

I worked at Microchip Technology full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

-Flat hierarchy for such a large company in 2008
-Paid back paycuts very soon after bottom of US recession
    -Varied projects to work on
    -50% engineering, 50% people-facing technical sales
    -Competitive pay
-Co workers actually know what they're doing

    Cons

-Located in San Jose, CA which is really boring
-I hear it's not such a great place to work anymore, much more political

    Recommends
