I worked at Midwest Technology Connection full-time (More than 3 years)
Good experience, Monday-Friday with hour lunch. I was able to learn so much about repairing PC's/Networks. Things I never thought I would run into.
This place was a living H*LL.. As an IT company you would think you would have appropriate equipment to do your job. I worked on a single core Processor(p4) with 256MB of ram.. Keep in mind my duties are to remote into servers and work stations to do work. Not exactly the best hardware to do the job. Not only that but equipment is not provided(tools, hard drives, books for certifacations they needed(yes I had to by my own certification book so I could get them a certification they needed so they would not loose accreditation with Microsoft. ) I had to bring mine from home because the owner refused to purchase them. The owner(Brett) thinks he knows how to "run" a company, but clearly he does not. Not only do you get horrible pay, but you are forced to work overtime for no extra pay, you are always being screamed at by Brett about being threatened to be canned because of a job that didn't got 100% as planned. This company is very shady. My closing note would be do you really want to work for a guy that instead of putting money into the company, and paying the bills so we don't get our accounts frozen, goes out buys new cars, airplane, and motorcycle...Or a man that would take advantage and screw over the Girl Scouts of America..
Advice to Management
Learn how to treat your employees with respect instead of making them fear you... An IT company is nothing without its techs...
