I have been working at Millennium Information Services as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    What Pros?
Their motto should be "We don't need no stinking pros". There is no work, life balance. There are no pros: simple.

    Cons

I am a construction Field Superintendent and Project Estimator by trade. Believe me, I KNOW inspections, deficiency reports, measurements, and field photography. I have been the top of my field in my city (6th largest in the united states). However, recruited with the expectation of 50 inspections a week, that are reported to take 10 minutes each, at a fee schedule of $90.00. That math makes a lot of sense. Quite frankly, even if the inspections took an hour each (and not the reported 10 minutes [as quoted from the script an inspector is required to learn]), that is 50 hours a week. Not a terrible burden, at the expected (as promised) 50 inspections at @90.00 is $4,500.00 weekly pay. That nears a 1/4 million a year. Who wouldn't work 50 hours a week for that?. Or even leave a $60,000.00 salary?
RIDICULOUS. After the necessary additional startup cost of nearly $1,000.00, the training was an abysmal failure of haste and inarticulate assertion of very obscure and proprietary nomenclature. Then come the "test" cases: which one comes to find that they have been woefully underprepared to conduct. After a 1 on 1 review of those cases, during which I was the focus of unbelievably unprofessional and infuriating condescension, those "test" cases were still submitted for billing to the carriers. More "test" cases. 10 of which were billed to the carriers, initially, resulting in a total pay of $20.50. Say, WHAT??? Oh, no pay for training. It is mandatory, but as ICs, everything is voluntary. So, no pay. It seems to me that this company could very well keep itself in business simply by the test cases of new recruits, serving as all of the inspections conducted by this company. Why else would they have test cases on live accounts? A massively high turnover rate provides plenty of unwitting volunteers to go out into the field to conduct the inspections required by vendor contracts. Expect to spend a LOT of time and money for NO returns. Expect to be demeaned, abused, and eventually ousted, if you are not one of the sheeple in the herd. Nobody can make a living working for this company, without being part of the oligarchy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It never pays to be overtly sarcastic and condescending with the people who make sure that you have a job, and a company for whom to work.
