    I worked at Mohawk Industries full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    steady paycheck, dedicated and competent workers in the lower ranks,

    Cons

    Subpar benefits and getting worse.

    Narcissistic upper managers brought in from other companies that have failed because of them. Normally a red flag in the hiring process but when HR function is so weak that is what happens.

    Very few paid holidays, and most of those spend working.

    No work / life balance for some, very good for others.

    Certain people frowned on if they work less than 12 hours a day, while others rarely work more than 8 hours. The same people expected to work 12 hours a day are also on call 24/7/365, while the 8 hours a day workers have no other responsiblity after hours. Others allowed or take it upon themselves to work 4 days a week because they refuse to relocate and want to commute back home on Friday.

    Workers that actually care about the company and truly make a difference are either overlooked or fired, while others that only care about themselves and are not truly making a difference are rewarded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take note of the Cons above as this is very demoralizing to your middle managers and below. You have and will continue to lose outstanding performers if you do not wake up and make a change. Take a serious look at your HR department from the top down.
