An extreme learning environment. Every day requires you to be on your "A" Game. Tremendous exposure to all types of challenging business problems. Cannot think of a better place to start a career in terms of gaining a business foundation and learning.

Management Consulting is not for everyone - long and unpredictable hours, not-so-glamorous travel, occasionally a partner who somehow expects the team to deliver an impossible amount of work, occasionally a manager who is a perfectionist to the degree that it destroys team morale, etc. For most employees, it wears you out, which is one reason new hires typically stay just 2-3 years or so.

Also, relative to peers, lower compensation (though I'd trade that in the early part of my career for the more interesting projects we had)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too bad for Monitor that it was acquired by Deloitte. I view Monitor as a fine-restaurant that simply didn't have enough customers. Monitor was stuck in the middle as neither a boutique nor a super-large firm and was squeezed on both sides. Also, the demand for consulting services a this price point shifted away from pure strategy / marketing strategy (Monitor's strongest areas), and more towards operations and implementation (relatively weaker areas compared to peers). Monitor was not able to adjust quickly enough.

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
