    I have been working at Monster Inc full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    It's an entrepreneurial company and if you want your own business this place is a good place to get experience as there is a lot to learn about what works and more importantly what mistakes not to make. There is good work life balance if you are a staff employee in a department that does not drive sales. If you are in a highly visible role or you are in upper management and Noel knows who you are then work life balance is nonexistent.

    Cons

    Management has a hard time making decisions which often results in delayed product launches and wasted resources and money. Decisions cannot be made without the approval of the head monster so basically everyone runs around to appease him. A lot of money is wasted on marketing and sales strategy without any accountability or analysis after the fact on whether what was done really drove any sales and as a result the company keeps on with the same unsuccessful strategies. There are no raises before I started at this company even in good times. Also if you are looking at this company be aware that they have not given out bonuses in awhile and probably won't unless business improves. Also layoffs are a reality here and they will let go of a few people every so often. Unless things change expect the layoffs to continue. For the most part people are really nice here, but some in upper management could use sensitivity training. Technology is really outdated here so don't expect to learn any new applications to build on your skills to make you marketable for your next job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Communication is really poor from upper management. Morale would benefit from regular performance evaluations and raises. Getting a bonus is not in lieu of a raise. Communicate there won't be bonuses until business improves. Employees just want to know what's going on.
