I have been working at Monterey Bay Aquarium as a contractor (less than a year)

Fellow employees are very committed to the company mission and cause, very skilled in their own positions, most managers willing to work with your schedule/s. Personal growth is encouraged and supported for direct employees. Promotions are encouraged and given.

As a contractor you're not treated as equal or as part of team as those who are directly hired. Opportunities for advancement are there, but its difficult to set yourself apart from others as a contractor. Other skills you may have are not taken into consideration for different projects. Overall, not a very supportive culture - too much disconnect between people. Too disorganized.
