I have been working at Morningside Translations

    Pros

Good work hours, you do get out at 6/630. Seamless and food in general. People are nice to your face. Summer fridays after a certain time. Location is very convenient.

I do think the company will continue to grow, but that doesn't mean you should work here.

    Cons

Health benefits do not start immediately. You get to hear the owner yelling every day about nothing. I can say with confidence some people, especially those who have been at the company for a few years, are just annoying, weird, and really lack self-awareness. I am often micromanaged, which would actually be OK if what I was doing was hard or new, but it just is not. In fact, sometimes it's downright insulting how boring, easy, and meaningless the work is. Management could save a lot of money hiring high schoolers who are eager to get their first job to do the job. The worst is that the interview process tells you the exact opposite of this. They say this is a small company with an entrepreneurial spirit where they encourage innovation and creativity. Lol. Instead, you do the same thing every day, for one third of your day, and count the minutes until your next coffee break. The worst is that there seems to be little career advancement. They might change your title and give you a couple of grand more, but you're doing the same job. I do not know where I could be in 5 years at this company if not where I am now. Honestly, it's good for your first job but I can't see any self-respecting person with a college degree staying here more than a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop picking favorites so obviously. Reward employees who work hard. Most importantly, get rid of annoying people. Everyone knows who they are.
