Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Federal Way, WA

I have been working at MorphoTrak full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Boring or easy work, depending on how you want to look at it

    Cons

Work environment has become very toxic with complete breakdown of trust, communication and collaboration amongst groups. Nobody wants to take risk or speak up any more, which is mostly due the ongoing witch-hunt conducted by the CEO who is very inexperience, tends to overact, prematurely jumps to conclusions, and therefore makes constant mistakes! She has tried to improve communication coming from senior management, but unfortunately, the town halls showed that she and the executives have no clue on how to grow or sustain the business. Worse, new product releases and features have always been late and full of issues, which result in lot of finger pointing but apparently no ownership/accountability. Integration, test, and support teams always felt victim to those quality issues and often got blame for late delivery of contracts or customer complains. Employees are just keeping quiet, hoping to get by another day and eventually positive (instead of negative) changes will finally come!
As the business is getting worse, there is a general feeling/expectation that the Federal Way facility will be shut down in a few years or that Morpho will get rid of this business. It is time to look for rewarding/meaningful jobs at other companies!
