Current Employee - Clinical Research Coordinator in New York, NY

I have been working at Mount Sinai Hospital (New York) full-time for more than a year

    You learn a lot.
    You can build your resume.

    No room for growth.
Employees are expected to come in early and stay late (Some come in at 5:30AM and leave at 7:30PM).
No promotions, raises or bonuses for Research Assistants and Research Coordinators.
After 3 years (with no raise) we were given a 3% "cost of living increase".
Doctors and management are rude, childish and ungrateful for the work and effort their employees put in.
Very high turnaround. Research Assistants don't usually stay for more than a year.
Management will place vacation request freezes from time to time if they are short on staff.
    Low office morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People would stay longer if they knew there was a chance of growth.
    Offer raises for deserving employees.
Say "Thank you", "Great job" or "We are so happy to have you here". This costs nothing, but it means so much.
