    I worked at Murad full-time

The family run business REALLY did value it's employees. Family always came first and work life balance was part of Dr. Murad's mission statement. Employee appreciation (cards, products, little thank yous), volunteer days, community outreach, special celebrations in the office, etc... made it really wonderful to work here. Also, the leadership committee was making big strides in changing the future of this company and putting together strategic plans to help maintain the equity of this brand. Plus, it was nice to work for a company who's products REALLY do work! I'm a loyal Murad customer, even though I'm no longer an employee.

Lots of office politics (as expected for a smaller family run business), poor technology systems which made it really hard to do your job, horrible work space planning (there was literally fighting between departments when an office or cubicle opened up and many new employees didn't even sit near their departments!) and a weak HR department that could have really helped drive positive change in the culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to find a way to stop "airing their dirty laundry" to the entire company; HR needs to find a stronger voice in the company... AND PLEASE put someone else in charge of work space planning! It's really demotivating as a new employee and department to have poor space.
