I have been working at Muscular Dystrophy Association

The MDA name and the fact that you don't have to have any experience to do the work. Time off is a definite plus, we get all bank holidays and our birthday as well as anniversary with the company. Very laid back atmosphere, casual dress.

They don't match any contribution to 403B, have a 90 day probation period before benefits start. No raises or promotions. Management style is a hit or miss, my boss has absolutely no management experience before coming to MDA and still has no management skills after 5 years. Also has no work ethic and pushes everything off on the fundraiser position. This has been going on the entire time she has been with the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be a manager like a corporation would expect. My current boss wouldn't last a day in a for-profit corporation in a management position. Urge fundraising coordinators to educate themselves regularly on new practices, ideas and research.
