I worked at Mutual of Omaha full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

MOO has a great brand name and some ok product. They are not very competitive in Life or DI. I would use MOO for critical illness and long term care insurance. If you are new to the business and have no ambitions of getting securities licensed and building a broad book of business then MOO maybe for you.

    Cons

If you decide you want to be a true financial planner/advisor and get securities licensed and offer a broad spectrum of COMPETITIVE products for YOUR clients then MOO will not be for you, at least that was my experience. There maybe other offices that promote individual growth but the office that I was at didn't care about being financial advisors, they just wanted the sale (insurance only) and the top producers seem to do one thing, convert term to perm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

hire district managers that know product and can help new agents thrive. I never thought that my manager knew a whole lot about a whole lot other than asking to turn in apps.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
