    I worked at NBA full-time

    Pros

The people are (for the most part) friendly, the travel opportunities can be exciting, and the food at the NBA Cafe is a pretty solid deal. Fun perks. However... The best thing about working at the NBA is your next job. If you can position yourself effectively, your resume will be interesting enough to get you in the door for interviews at better employers.

    Cons

Minimal investment in human development beyond ineffective cookie-cutter classes. Laughable compensation levels. Zero room for professional advancement. Intensely political office environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People matter. Take a cue from more successful organizations, and improve performance by taking talent seriously. If there weren't an irrational oversupply of people blinded by the glitz of working in sports, this place would be a complete disaster. Ignoring employee sentiment might be sustainable. It might not.
