I have been working at NCR full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Actively investing in innovation
Average tenure is still fairly high
Middle management is fair and takes care of people

    Cons

Senior leadership is very poor, short sighted, only cares about the quarter, will burn down sales force and customer relationships in order to make the quarter!
Notorious for cutting costs by underfunding field services hours budgets and parts/logistics making it impossible to service customers within SLA. This amounts to intentionally breaking contractual agreements and has resulted in many lost clients.
CAPPED commissions. They will give you an insanely high quota and if you somehow exceed it, they will raise it mid year to make sure you don't make more than what they want you to. Software companies pay 2-3x what NCR pays sales because NCR is not profitable enough to afford the commissions. They need the money to fund their failing services and margin thin hardware businesses.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a long term approach to managing your people and servicing your customers. Take care of your people and your customers and you will be rewarded with future business and loyalty. There is no incentive to work hard and sell more when you won't get paid for it!

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
