I worked at NRA full-time (less than an year)

The building and location are great. Not too many people can brag about a museum, gift shop, cafeteria, gym AND indoor gun range at their office. Employees can take NRA courses for free. While I was there, I took a basic handgun class and a pistol instructor course. At one point, I one a shotgun in a raffle held in the cafeteria. Benefits are great, and they offer leave pay for military reservists. The HR department is so nice, and everyone who works at NRA works their because they believe in what they do. People are down-to-earth, helpful and welcoming. Lots of camaraderie! And if you like taxidermery, there's an animal mounted in almost every cubicle or office.

I loved working there, but there was little available for me for upward promotion. Because of NRA's status as a non-profit, the salaries are not very competitive. I found that most people were either recent college grads or retirees. You don't work at NRA for the money.
