I worked at NYU (New York University) full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Depending on the department and teh management therein, NYU can be a great opportunity to learn and grow as an administrator. Salaries at NYU are more competitive than most other higher education institutions and the benefits package is also fairly strong!

    Cons

Depending on your department and the senior managers you work for, the work experience and staff management is driven by middle managers that don't know how to manage people yet they want results. The school's adminnistration has become MUCH more bureaucratic in the last 5-8 years which has had a negatie impact on administrators and consequently services to teh students!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your people on the front lines and student feedback on administrative services!!
