I have been working at Nalco full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay structure is OK, if you are in sales it is better than the alternative of working as the customer. Great opportunity for development and experience, you run your own show when you manage accounts. You take the credit for the success you bring in and will be rewarded handsomely (this is sales).

    Cons

Field personnel are overworked, you are almost expected to work during the weekend. Plenty of emails typed past 11:00 coming in and going out, just trying to get everything completed during the weekend to get ready for Monday. Some jobs are isolated and you are expected to keep the ship afloat, some challenges in the field you need more than just a rep to handle. The benefits since ECOLAB took over are a joke, I cant believe the premiums keep going up while the coverage declines. ECOLAB has the habit of nickel and dime-ing its own employees to lower costs. Way too many bean counters in corporate roles looking to squeeze the last bit of blood out of the turnip.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The plan with CIGNA is a joke. Get rid of the bean counters in MN, return to the employees the awesome profits the company has made from the nickel and diming of the work force. I feel like a frog in boiling water.
