Great environment, great benefits, not much ability to move up or around the Society.

I have been working at National Geographic full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people are amazing, friendly, and hardworking. I love my team and the friendships I've developed from this job. The benefits (work from home, green fridays, work life balance) are rare to find in DC.

    Cons

Inadequate pay, minimal new year raises. I have been trying to move around or be promoted for over a year, no possibility in that realm. This org loves to hire from outside instead of promoting from within, which is why I am forced to look for outside opportunities and leave this org despite the pros.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire from within! Job creation, promotion paths! You know this a problem, please finally do something about it.
