I have been working at National Industries for the Blind full-time (more than 10 years)Pros
Good vacation time, friendly people. Across from Metro. Good health benefits and retirement. Extra vacation time for guide dog training.Cons
There is a glass ceiling for blind and visually impaired--you can make it into lower or possible middle management, but no higher than that. There are no visually impaired program directors, directors , senior directors or vice presidents. There aren't even any people with a disability other than visual impairment in any of those job titles. There is a ugly belief that the blind and visually impaired staff should be grateful for their jobs.Advice to ManagementAdvice
Remember what the mission is. Stop spending money on a new building and build up your people instead.
