    As with most Government organizations, NRCS means well but work output is negatively affected by bureaucratic nonsense.

    I have been working at Natural Resources Conservation Service as a contractor (more than 3 years)


    The amount of paperwork required ensures job security. Can't complain about 80 hours of paid vacation per year. Office is fairly nice.


    Little to no appreciation from "the higher ups". Work is incredibly tedious. Inadequate and inconsistent direction is given when assigning new projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    State offices need to remember that they were put in place to serve the field offices, not the other way around.
