I worked at NetIQ full-time for more than 5 years

Very flexible hours, no overtime. Engineering uses Agile methodologies and tools, great teams. Talented Product Management team.

Most of the engineering jobs have moved offshore, no salary raises over the past several years, a lot of people left the company and their positions were not back filled. No promotions or opportunities for growth. A lot of cost saving measures. Some of the tools are being replaced with cheap or free analogues, like using GroupWise instead of Exchange. The bonus program is tied to the company's profit plan, which shifts a lot of the risk to the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the key players from leaving. Invest and grow your business instead of cutting expenses.
