I worked at New College of Florida part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

In a word, the students. They were a joy to work with and teach, and were eager to learn the material. Bright, curious, and creative!
The faculty are kind and dedicated, although a few of the old guard need to get into the 21st century or retire. Young blood is needed in the ranks. Idyllic location, cozy feel on campus. The new president Donal O'Shea seems to be a good choice for leadership. I had complete freedom in my course in every respect.

    Cons

Salaries are low, but the teaching load was undemanding. Low turnover and no growth in the student body means faculty stay forever, a bit too long. Facilities are low tech. Over reliance on adjuncts as opposed to hiring new faculty with innovative ideas that could breathe some life into the school.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't let good talent slip away. Hire faculty who have skills the current generation need to learn.
