I have been working at New York Life as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Top 10: 1) the freedom to choose & build my own client base throughout the US, 2) the freedom to choose how I spend my commissions on business expenses & who I want to split commissions with (if at all), 3) top notch product training, professional development, & mentorship support at no cost to me, 4) social media marketing tools & support at less than $5/mo, 5) corporate events that encourage attendance by family members (including kids), 6) freedom to make my own schedule/work from home, 7) I never have to worry about the quality of my product, 8) I can donate to local charities where I volunteer & receive matching dollars from my Company in my name, 9) individual recognition for excellent work across several categories, 10) many of my colleagues are 2nd & 3rd generation New York Life agents

    Cons

I can only think of 1, and this would be true for any entrepreneurial endeavor: you cannot predict your income for at least the first year. If you believe in what you are doing (and not just doing it for the income), are willing to work long & hard for it, learn from your failures & stay humble in your successes, then I believe there really are no "cons" in working for New York Life

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep good going! Always maintain the conservative, policyholder-centric philosophy that has kept our Company going for nearly 170 years!
