I worked at Nordstrom Rack full-time (More than a year)
-They have competitive wages so in Ga you start at 10.75. -They promote from within but they value selling and team motivation over hard work. - Every location is different and your experience will depend on how good your team works together. -They have a great internship program, which is paid and allows you to move up faster. -many perks and decent discount. - It's fast paced and work but fun. - This company looks greY on your resume. - They transfer you between here and Nordstrom department store. - If you're willing to transfer around the state's than you will get promoted faster. Assistants make max $16 and hour based on location.
- It's all about who you know to determine your speed of growth. - If managers don't like you, you might want to quit. - If you aren't good at selling then find a mentor or a different job. - The open door policy Nd inverted pyramid isn't true..... At least not in Ga. - Every store is different as well as the experience. - You're schedules are made 3 weeks in advance but you work when they want you too. - It's hard to get approved days off. - Management must work all holidays store is open.
Advice to Management
Be fair, be honest, open, and understanding. Not everyone is cut out to be a manager. Coaching and training should be done even if recommended by the people at the "top" of the inverted pyramid.
