    I worked at Nordstrom Rack full-time for less than a year


    - 20% off discount was okay
    - great learning experience
    -never a dull moment


    I had the worst store manager EVER, therefore she made my experience there equally as awful. I had worked at a Nordstrom full line store beforehand and wanted to try managing in a rack. If you're in management at Nordstrom you're strongly encouraged to have "the Rack experience" at some point in your career with the company, so I figured I get it out of the way and over with as soon as possible. Although majority of the people I worked with were wonderful, and although I learned a lot about management there, the verbal and mental abuse from my store manager was so awful that I became fed up around 5 months and finally transferred back to the full line stores.

    Also, the pay was awful for the amount of work I did and the amount of abuse I had to put up with. Once I found out one of my part-time, under-performing sales associates was making just as much as me, an assistant manager, I finally had enough and left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take HR concerns and complaints more seriously. It shouldn't take dozens of employees quitting, dozens of complaints to the company hotline and months to finally get rid of a store manager that isn't doing their job.
