I worked at Nordstrom full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Money is good.... That's it.... Nothing else to say that's even worth pointing out. Overall money is good if you feel like being bullied for it.

    Cons

Seniority is a big thing at nordstrom. There is terrible management. In my 5 years experience the worse employees get to the top management for kissing butt and not because they actually work. Bad hours and they take advantage of that. They know you will do anything for hours so they will take advantage of you. Did illegal hour scheduling and ended up working 12 hours in one day. I wasn't even asked to work those hours but expected to. I don't mind physical work but they push you to where you don't want to be. They push you to the point where you may be sick and they just don't care. If your sick don't call in sick. It's okay for them to Call in sick but they have no sense of sympathy for anyone else. Same with family emergencies...they don't care. All they care about is making money. Not the business to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Say thank you to your employees to make them feel appreciated. earn respect the right way. Don't be sneaky or lazy or else that respect goes out the window.
