Management is great, positive outlook for future, documentation and inter division comm. a bit lacking/old school

Current Employee - Software Engineer  in  Bohemia, NY
Current Employee - Software Engineer in Bohemia, NY

I have been working at North Atlantic Industries as an intern for less than a year

The relationship between management and employees is very amiable, but still professional. Management is well versed in their corresponding fields. Interns are given work versus "busy work". Company is performing very well in its industry. Healthy work-balance, deadlines may stress that, but only occasionally.

Communication between divisions is shaky, which leads to inefficiency. However, it is very easy to go find and talk to someone from a different division and clear up whatever miscommunication may have occurred. Code documentation is lacking. Not consistent enough coding standards used, very clear that different projects were produced by different people (or multiple people worked on one project). Company employees generally consists of middle aged workers, however, CEO is adamant on hiring younger personal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve inter division communication. Enact rigorous coding standards/policies for readability and easing employee transition.
