    I worked at Northern Natural Gas as a contractor for less than a year


    Compensation is fair and management is engaged, but focus is on following rules rather than productivity. Stable environment for the incompetent, as long as you follow their rules.


    Standard corporate environment of treating employees like they are in kindergarten and every body acts like it. Corporate machine plus location limits their recruiting possibilities to only the most desperate and under qualified. You will NOT be working with the best or brightest...

    Other developers on my project are evasive and abusive in response to questions. Extremely bad at organization and will launch into extended rants about the smallest details while ignoring the larger picture, gladly wasting entire hour long meetings fighting about things outside of their control. Very good at putting up issues and road-blocks, but refuse to give constructive feed back. Get very angry if things do not go exactly their way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop worrying if about completely irrelevant things like people wearing jeans, and start focusing on making an environment where people can work together and be productive. Fire people based on if they can accomplish the work, not if they conform to you autocratic rules and regulations.
