I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The best things about working here were the benefits. The health, dental, vision, life, and 401k were some of the best I have had. When a contract dried up the management did there best to keep you employed.

    Cons

Management. There were entirely too many managers for each section. There were entirely too many managers/supervisors/leads in any one program. Tenured employees. These employees would be a detriment to the organization but would be allowed to stay in their current position, or be able to move laterally without being terminated. We were constantly understaffed and were recommended "required" to work long days and even weekends. They would pay overtime if the contract allowed it. Management theory on problems were that of knee jerk reaction. Good old boy system in place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers should be scrutinized just like regular employees. Managers are given certain leniency when they reach that level. There should be an outside audit of the facilities to ensure that every employees is kept to highest standard.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
