I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (more than 3 years)

Work life balance is great because only 40 hours is expected and they have the 9/80 schedule so you can flex your time around and essentially have a lot of 3 day weekends. The work is interesting because the projects are defense based which means you're not making a million widgets.

The work force is on the older side which makes it hard to try new things because old ways are set in. Compensation to start was competitive but raises are slow unless you jump to management path. Facilities are old and not many perks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employee retention requires that you empower younger people to take technical leadership.
