I have been working at Novant Health part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Daytime Hours for some shifts
    Slow work environment.
    Hospital is visually appealing.

    Cons

Hired from out of state for a full time position. Upon arrival, I find out I am "part-time." Change requested. Change denied and not discussed. This place is set back in the days of old. Don't ask, don't tell and because I told you so, that's why. Does not encourage free thinking or thinking for yourself. Novant is super heavy on upper management and claims to be transparent. Not the case. Whatever the case, it is swept under the rug and not talked about. Like the days of slavery. Met a fellow nurse who came here for a day shift position. Upon arrival, was given night shift and told to do what was best for the department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get it together, Novant. Get lean on your upper management overhead and clean out your closets. Re-evaluate who is running your departments and most definitely your HR. Beyond embarrassing, and for the sake of all of those nurses who need to feed their families, pay them more. You guys aren't even at the national average. That's embarrassing. Tooting your horn and holding celebrations, doesn't make you a good employer. I have two open invitations to return to my previous places of employment outside of the Carolinas in two separate cities. That's who you are losing. Good employees. Additionally, for all of those afraid to voice their concern out of penalty, I speak for them. If you want the staff to respect you, respect them.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
