I worked at Office of Management and Budget full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Sharp colleagues and big influence with the federal agencies.

    Cons

Outdated budget process fails to serve the modern Presidency or the public, stovepiping decisionmaking and compressing decisions with enormous economic implications into a few brief weeks each year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think outside of the box and build a new structure for creating Federal budgets that draws on economics, cost-effectiveness, and best evidence for how the federal government can best partner with the private sector to support the economy and Americans' personal welfare.
