    Pros

Always a task for you to do or perfect some part of the store.
When on registers, hours fly by.

    Cons

When on salesfloor, time does not move.
Managers, specialists, & LOD's should work too, not just stand around with clipboard in hand "observing" the current situation of the store; they are getting paid too, & more, for doing way less.
Store attracts the pool of consumers not willing to spend a penny & will have a panic attack of price of merchandise if it is a single cent off from a sign that is not even for that item; the average population needs to learn how to read. A pair of khakis is not a pair of socks. Just because both words have a "k" in them does not mean they are the same item.
Customers return filthy worn, washed (& occasionally blood-splattered) items from three years ago & expect their money back. We're already accepting the return. It's currently worth forty seven cents. Here is your store credit. No wait, here it is in cash, it is under five dollars.
When under terrible frugal management, store is on the floor, handicapped dressing room stall is bursting with unprocessed clothing stuffed in there to be hidden by visiting corporate people.
Customers expect Nordstrom service; managers expect Nordstrom service given. Customers, you get what you paid for; managers, we provide at the rate we are paid.
Old navy credit card accounts are opened under pressure & personal sales goals, causing unnecessary competition among associates while resulting in raises for the manager. We are not even given any compensation except for a high five for this.

    Advice to Management

Cash handlers are & should be your top performing, most trustworthy associates within the store; do not just give clearance for a new hire to have access to the entire store's finds just because he or she is "chill".
Treasure your employees & all they put into the store.
Quit gossiping & set a good example for a healthy work environment.
Hire competent people who actually have the ability to follow directions.
Stop talking all the overtime & cutting back on hours for the rest of the associates who are actually working & not just sitting in the office talking on the phone / texting / eating / gossiping.
Stop hiring pointless & needless new manager positions we were able to function without; this just puts an extra amateur on a power trip, contributing to the store's failure & resulting in lesser hours as well.
