I got to meet some great people. The touring acts often gave us free tickets to their shows and the guests were generally very nice.

I worked by myself in the restaurant with only 1 cook in the kitchen and often had to stay because 1 or 2 people would want come in AFTER I closed the doors at our posted closing time of 11. Since I was classified as part time, I did not qualify for benefits, although I worked 40+ hours a week. The heat didn't work in the winter, and it would get as low as 40 in the restaurant. We often didn't have things that were necessary behind the bar or in the kitchen. The ceiling leaked in some of the rooms and in the lobby, the kitchen's heat lamps would often spark from the bad wiring, and the dryers were so old they set on fire twice.

    Advice to Management

Spend the money and fix up the place. It is a historic building that is gradually degrading because the company doesn't want to invest in a renovation.
