I worked at Omnicare full-time (more than 3 years)Pros
*You get medical benefits.
*Vacation time is palatable.Cons
*Second shift has to stay beyond their scheduled hours while first shift gets to leave on time
*Lazy employees coast by the day while the few hard workers handle the majority of their work
*Employees get eliminated at the first sign of dwindling beds, and the positions never get filled again when the workload increases/goes back to normal
*Management is a mess, rules get made and aren't enforced. Omnicare would be an example listed under the word hypocrisy in the dictionary.
*Micromanaged about the pettiest things, never get any praise for all the sweat and exhaustion you endure.
*No bonus pay.Advice to ManagementAdvice
99% of the time the rules that are made by the "higher ups" have absolutely no idea or comprehension of how the dynamics of each individual department work. If they're going to try to implement general rules, they should first work on making all Omnicares follow the same protocols. Also, please make an effort to acknowledge hard working employees and pay them what they deserve. A hard working employee making less than a lazy one is unacceptable and disgusting. A thorough mental exam should be mandatory for all superiors to ensure that a person of diplomatic and sound judgement is in charge. Children should not be considered for supervisor positions. Why is a 50 year old answering to a teenager? Spend some money on new hardware and update the ancient DX system to something more current. It's a convoluted mess and forcing employees to learn cryptic commands to perform simple functions is a waste of everyones time. Invest some money and time in your company and employees. It'll go a long way.Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookDisapproves of CEO
