Chance to manage software product from the get-go, coordinating three development groups, creating design specifiations with stakeholders, and facilitating the work of geographically dispersed programmers.
The company was severely undercapitalized. Prime stakeholders had no experience with the software industry. Pay was substandard, and benefits nonexistent. The company went bust before we had a chance to really show our stuff.
Advice to Management
Next time, find the minimal viable product before you start coding. Decide what you want to be and relentlessly prune everything that doesn't fit with your basic plan. Simplify, simplify, focus, and concentrate.
