I have been working at Onyx Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This used to be a great place to work with Tony Coles, Ted Love and Kay Foster at the helm. Pablo has very lazy people skills and he is arrogant, much like an oncologist waiting (not wanting to watch) a patient die. It trickles down. The cafe is ok.

    Cons

If you're not Chinese, you'll be treated slightly better than a slave. There are no rules, no GCP, no adherence to standards, no direction, no learning from mistakes made, no best practices. This is a free-for-all with a bunch of leaders that have not been held accountable. HR is useless and in on the free-for-all calling shots from who gets interviews to who gets promoted without discussions with those who will be or have been working with the personnel. No personal growth plans, no organizational structures, senior leaders don't communicate, or when they do they confuse rather than clarify issues.

    Advice to Management

Karma, my arrogant leaders, will find you soon enough. What goes around comes around. Good luck to you after disrespecting those who helped build this company. I hope Amgen takes you down soon. The open work environment is totally a bust, by the way. The people who need to be working together are sitting in offices with their doors closed. I have to schedule meetings for them to talk to each other because they don't know what they're doing as a team of leaders, even though they are neighbors. Meanwhile, the rest of the people are playing voice football in the snake pits.
