    Pros

My experience working in IT in NYC had been overall good - good support, good structure, good team work, and good facilities. The IT structure can be easily navigated and there is a good sense of team work between most of the business and IT. The business has generally been superbly helpful with explanations and generous with their time (not always the case when dealing with IT) and it's the upper managers who create this type of relationship. It's a good place to learn and grow, and the people are terrific. Excellent senior management.

    Cons

There are always a few bullies and a group of very politically minded people who will step on shoes to get on top. Also, advancement in the company is limited unless someone else leaves or if the company pushes to create "new" roles/titles. Sometimes, a favored teammate may get away with doing (many) things that others would not possibly try, and this brings morale down for those who feel slighted. Also, sometimes transparency within the department is pretty poor, but it gets passed down from somewhere in the middle or a little higher up.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, and keep making an effort to reward your talent.
