I have been working at Optical Express full-time (More than a year)
The people I work with make this company. Against overwhelming odds they try to put the patient first. They are a great team and work together well. Nothing is too much trouble. They go above and beyond for the patients.
Upper management are a joke! The higher up the management tree they climb the worse they go! Goal posts are constantly being moved. Wages are the lowest they can get away with and the chance of a raise is nil. They do not value any staff member. Staff are just seen as 'donkeys'. The hours are shocking and some nights it is ten o' clock before the theatre team are leaving. No consideration is given when you are travelling to other clinics, regardless of how far you have to travel. As soon as the patient has paid that's it as far as upper management are concerned. If things don't turn out quite as expected then tuff!
Advice to Management
Start treating your staff with more respect! Share your wealth! Give them a decent wage, they earn it! Be more open and honest with them and come out of your ivory towers and do your own dirty work! Remember that without your fantastic staff your company will crumble. You employ staff ten a penny but if you keep paying peanuts you will end up with monkeys!
