Former Employee - Registered Nurse III in Orlando, FL
Former Employee - Registered Nurse III in Orlando, FL

I worked at Orlando Health full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Once you get in, you really can't be fired unless you do something illegal. Stupidity is rewarded with advancement. No real experience or skills needed (just those magical letters after your name BSN, MSN, etc).

    Cons

Differential/night shift pay cut. Sporadic yearly reviews/raises. Nurses are currently trying to bring in a union and OH is being tacky and sending anti-union emails on a weekly basis (even though it's their own fault for the disgruntled nurses). Management that does not have management skills. Where I worked they would change your schedule on a weekly basis. So much for "self-scheduling."

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Orlando Health was once a predominant player in the healthcare field but they are letting other surrounding hospitals take over the Central Florida region with new facilities and advancements. Their "mom & pop" way of thinking must change in order for them to survive. I can see them being bought out by a bigger entity within 5 years.
