I worked at Oxford Inn & Suites full-time (More than 5 years)
Still small enough that the owners know your name and when corporate comes to visit it's not a bad thing. They listen and act on customer feedback. They invest carefully budgeted funds to maintain high levels of quality service and product. Family owned with a personal feel.
Some changes and updates to infrastructure come a little too slow or late. As corporate operating procedures take priority some of the small company charm is lost. Building company wide culture is challenging to keep cohesive due to different management styles and practices from one hotel to the next.
Advice to Management
Take time on a weekly basis to work alongside your entry level employees. See and experience their daily challenges from their point of view instead of from a report. Don't confuse corporate policy and performance expectations with what you are calling company culture.
