I have been working at PAAMCO full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - good compensation: benefits, salary, gym membership
    - smart people

    Cons

Great if you get in as an associate. There's the partner track for us. Analysts are not so lucky. PAAMCO participates in an Analyst Program, which is a full time program that lasts for about 2 years. There is no room for advancement and don't even think about trying to stay permanently. PAAMCO likes to hire new grads for their analyst program. This is unfortunate for the new grads because they will not have an accurate view of the real world. PAAMCO is a great place to retire, not a great place to grow and develop your career. Very high turnover for analysts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Besides the short term analyst program, PAAMCO is very political. Everything is based on whether you are liked by the decision makers. My advice to management would be to stop playing favoritism and start looking at the actual work that is being done.
