I have been working at PICS full-time (more than 3 years)

I've been with the company for a few years now. I've recently seen the old guard leave and the new guard take over in the technology department. Wow, what a change! The concerns and improvements that once fell on deaf ears have been cleared away. New hires are sharp and willing to learn; and that's great because we've started using more cutting edge technologies (especially for a company of our size and scale) like Angular, Scala…

I've been rewarded and recognized for the efforts that I've put into PICS. Over multiple successful projects I've been allowed more responsibilities and opportunities. The company is full of great people and continues to leverage the talent they have.

The culture is good and getting better. More flexibility has been given to teams for bondings, outings, education, and tools. Everyone still here is friendly and approachable; willing to listen and experiment. Hell, even Scrum is being practiced more successfully here than I've seen before.

There are plenty of opportunities for growth here if you put in the time and effort—all with virtually no red tape!

I hate having to deal with the freeway to get to work, but at least it's right off the highway. It's under the landing path for John Wayne Airport. Inside you'd never know, but outside it can be loud when a plane comes in. There's not really a ton of stuff in walking distance, but it's Orange County so anything's only a short car ride away. I wouldn't trade the location physically; I just wish there were more restaurants and gyms closer or onsite.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leverage your teams and continue to listen. The more recent changes have made a good place to work great. I'm excited to see this trend continue!

    Positive Outlook
