My experience as a bottom level employee is barely tolerable. We seem to be the company slaves.

I have been working at PPG

My coworkers are very friendly and extremely hardworking. We feel like family. The benefits are okay, and I personally like the kind of work we do.

We are never thanked for a job well done, and in fact are always talked down to and treated like children. We're only allowed to clock out when dismissed. We are used to scrub the production floor or to do tasks no-one else wants to do. Mandatory over-time is understandable at times but gets used far too much. Especially when most of the employees are willing to put in over-time voluntarily. There are also obvious favorites, that are allowed to do almost anything, such as chew gum, whereas, someone else may be written up for it. In other words, there's no consistency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to take a good look at how their bottom-end employees are treated. That may also explain to them why so many just walk out, or don't show up. For the most part, we all are extremely hard-working, and should be treated as such. Some respect would go a long way.
